PORT JERVIS vs MIDDLETOWN
Began in 1897 ... The teams then played at least once each year from 1903 through 1969 (listed as a national record) In 1919 the teams played the first of 51 consecutive Thanksgiving Day games There was no game in 1970 when Port left the DUSO and joined the Orange County League. The rivalry was rekindled
in 1971 when the state added a ninth game. They have met every year since but not on Thanksgiving.... The Erie Railroad Bell was added in 1953 The series now stands at 68 Middletown wins, 55 Port Jervis wins and 7 ties Port's 11 -game winning streak (through 2007) is the series' longest winning streak.
